Hansel Marine has successfully completed the production and delivery of two sets of customized Dredge Spud Clamps for a client’s cutter suction dredger. The Dredge Spud Clamps are installed on the positioning spuds and play a critical role in clamping, securing, lifting, and locking the spuds during dredging operations.

Working as a coordinated system, the upper and lower Dredge Spud Clamps function like two mechanical hands that alternately grip the positioning spud. While one clamp holds the spud firmly in place, the other moves to adjust the position, allowing the spud to be safely lifted, lowered, and locked according to operational requirements. This mechanism ensures stable positioning of the cutter suction dredger during dredging activities.

During the operation of the client’s cutter suction dredger, the original Dredge Spud Clamps were found to have design issues that affected their performance and reliability. Based on the client’s feedback and specific operational requirements, Hansel Marine’s engineering team analyzed the working conditions and developed an optimized design for the new Dredge Spud Clamps.

The customized clamps were manufactured according to the client’s dredger structure and application requirements, providing improved adaptability, enhanced structural strength, and more reliable performance during dredging operations.
